Annabel Wishston, one of the few survivors of the initial epidemic, is back to her role as Countess. After getting married to a wealthy merchant she has been raised in a family-like environment. She quickly makes her way into society and becomes close friends and defends David (Barry Foster). In exchange for protection, David allows Annabel to live with him. He follows her in pursuit of Dracula shortly afterward. However, he realizes that he won’t be able to win and decides it is time for him to rekindle his love, either with someone new or with the Countess.
Annabel soon will have two new friends, Steve Loughlin (John Loughlin) and Tommy Eliaunder (Eliaunder). The three of them become the core of her vampire hunters, known as the Priests. Although she initially leads them because of her age of woman, she soon realizes that her family relationships will be more important to her while she hunts down the enemy. We see women supporting Dracula and taking part in his hunt.
The story is mostly about the relationship between Dracula and the Priestess, but there are other aspects that aren’t so evident. There are priests who help the Priestess in her fight against vampires. These are the Walled Cities. These are places which were completely isolated from the outside world, and had only the help of a self-created defense force by the Priests. The Walled Cities were not only designed to protect the inhabitants from Dracula but as well from other threats.
In one scene from the movie the Priestess gives instructions to the girls who are aiding her in her mission. One of the directions is to kill all vampires they see. The Priestess and the girls are buried when they are found dead and their bodies are buried in the Walled City. The film cuts to fifteen years after in which the priestess has been questioned by an investigator.
During this time the movie provides a different look at the thoughts of the priests during this time period. They are distracted by their past as they try to reveal what happened to the investigator. They express their regrets over the deaths of their own sisters and wish that they could have assisted the other in their deaths. This film provides a glimpse into how vampires see the world surrounding them, including both the good and evil that prevailed in the period.
